Paul Signac was one of the originators of the technique known as pointillism or divisionism. Following the death of Georges Seurat, Paul Signac appeared at the forefront of the Neo-Impressionist movement. He experimented with various media forms including oil paintings and watercolors as well as etchings, lithographs, and many pen-and-ink sketches composed of small, laborious dots.
